Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakesh – Ait Benhaddou – Dades Gorge

The day starts with a pickup from your hotel or riad in Marrakesh around 8:00 AM. You will travel in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle through the stunning High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass, which stands at 2260 meters. Along the way, you'll pass picturesque Berber villages and have opportunities to stop for photos of the breathtaking landscapes.

By midday, you arrive at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Benhaddou, a famous fortified city with remarkable Moroccan mudbrick architecture, often featured in Hollywood movies. You will have free time to explore the ksar on foot, possibly accompanied by a local guide.

After lunch, the journey continues with a stop in Ouarzazate to visit Taourirt Kasbah. Then, the route takes you through the beautiful oasis of Skoura, known for its impressive 17th-century Amridil Kasbah, before heading to the Dades Valley, also known as the City of Roses. This drive through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs offers spectacular views of the red Atlas Mountains, green valleys with palm groves, and traditional Berber villages.

You will reach Dades Valley in the evening, where you can enjoy dinner and spend the night in a comfortable hotel, resting after a day full of natural beauty and cultural discovery

Day 2: Dades Gorge – Merzouga – Erg Chebbi

Begin the day with breakfast in the Dades Valley before departing for the Todra Gorge, a spectacular canyon with towering red cliffs rising up to 300 meters. Here, you can enjoy a walk along the gorge, surrounded by palm groves and traditional Berber villages.

After exploring Todra Gorge, continue the journey through scenic palm valleys and small mud villages toward Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. Upon arrival, switch to camel rides to trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes. Enjoy an unforgettable hour and a half camel ride across the vast golden dunes, culminating in a stunning desert sunset.

Spend the night in a desert camp under nomadic tents or stars, enjoying a traditional Moroccan dinner and music around the campfire for an authentic Sahara experience.

Day 3: Erg Chebbi – Merzouga – Marrakech

On the last day, after an early breakfast in the desert camp, you will ride a camel back to Merzouga village, retracing your steps across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Once back in Merzouga, you will have time to freshen up.

Then the journey begins back to Marrakech by road, passing through the town of Rissani where you may stop to explore the traditional market if it aligns with market days (Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday). The return route continues past Erfoud and through scenic areas such as the Todra Gorge and Dades Valley, where brief stops allow for photos and short walks.

Driving through the Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, you will finally arrive in Marrakech in the evening, concluding your memorable 3-day desert adventure filled with cultural and natural wonders
